Flight 1549 Video Animation

The Pilot (a fellow Purdue Grad) is a true American Hero.  He was unbelievably calm and collected and the fact he landed the plane squarely and smoothly in the Hudson is amazing.

If you have ever been to NYC and specifically the Intrepid, where he landed the plane near, and look across the river, you know how narrow it is there.  Plus landing between the bridges and not hitting any ferries or ships.  Absolutely amazing.

A true American Hero, along with the entire crew of Flight 1549.

Very funny. Very Cool. I believe this is the world's largest "inkjet" printer :)

Busy, Busy, Busy...

by Patrick 15. July 2004 05:07

It's been a busy last couple of weeks... Getting started in my new job has presented a whole new set of challenges across the board. Lots of things to do, things that need to get done, and not enough time to get them all done, but I'm loving it...

This last weekend had my good friend Jordan Beswick in town with his two boys. We hit the Mall of America, did the whole Camp Snoopy thing and had a blast. His two boys got along with my oldest daughter and my wife was great enough to take care of us all.

Jordan and I worked on editting a movie for him by starting to use iMovie on my 15" powerbook, but quickly realized that we'd need something else... So I picked up Final Cut Express and I absolutely love it. It is a piece of cake to operate and get edits done, things just make sense. Right now Apple is offering Final Cut Express for $99 with any new Mac purchased, versus the retail $299. However, even at $299 its well worth it. My only complaints is, no real time audio rendering??? Or at least I can't find a way to turn it on... Also, very difficult to figure out how to export to iDVD, but after figuring it out, it was quite simple... iDVD crashed a couple of times in rendering, but after starting over, I was able to get 3 DVD's made in a few hours...

Later...
