Andy Kaufman died 20 years ago… Or did he? One of his last jokes was that he stated that he would fake his death and return 20 years later.
Well, May 16th 2004 will be the 20th anniversary of Andy Kaufman’s death and will the master of deception and comedian known for pulling elaborate pranks reveal his prank and be alive all this time? Or is it a final joke on us, remembering Andy Kaufman 20 years after his death is a mark at the tremendous impact he had on comedy.
He pushed barriers and limits. His wrestling, his David Letterman appearances, his run on Taxi as Ladka and of course, Tony Clifton… Andy Kaufman, if you are alive, I will be laughing. If not, rest in peace, as your last joke is one that is on me 🙂
