ProPresenter Setup Instructions
Step 1: Enable Network Control in ProPresenter
1. Open ProPresenter on your computer
2. Go to ProPresenter → Preferences (Mac) or File → Preferences (Windows)
3. Navigate to the Network tab
4. Check "Enable Network"
5. Set the Port to 49986
(default for REST API)
6. Note the Network Name/IP Address shown (you'll need this below)
7. Optional: Set a Password for added security
8. Click Apply and restart ProPresenter
Step 2: Find Your ProPresenter Computer's IP Address
On Mac:
- Hold Option key and click Wi-Fi icon in menu bar
- Look for "IP Address" in the dropdown
- Or go to System Preferences → Network → Advanced → TCP/IP
On Windows:
- Open Command Prompt (cmd)
- Type
ipconfig
and press Enter - Look for "IPv4 Address" under your network adapter
Example IP addresses: 192.168.1.100, 192.168.0.50, 10.0.0.25
Step 3: Network Requirements
Both devices must be on the same network:
- ProPresenter computer and this device must be on the same Wi-Fi network
- Or both connected to the same local network (wired/wireless)
- Corporate/church networks may block connections - contact IT if needed
- Firewalls may need to allow ProPresenter through port 49986
Step 4: Test the Connection
1. Enter the IP address from Step 2 in the connection form above
2. Use port 49986
(or your custom port)
3. Enter password if you set one in ProPresenter
4. Click "Test Connection"
5. If successful, you'll see ProPresenter version info and a green "Connected" status
Troubleshooting Common Issues
"Connection Failed" or "Network Error"
- Verify both devices are on the same network
- Check that ProPresenter's Network feature is enabled
- Try disabling firewall temporarily to test
- Restart ProPresenter after enabling Network
- Use network scanner app to confirm IP address
"Authentication Failed"
- Double-check the password in ProPresenter preferences
- Try leaving password field empty if none is set
- Restart ProPresenter after changing password settings
"Connected but messages not appearing"
- Check that ProPresenter is not in "Presentation Mode"
- Verify that Messages are enabled in ProPresenter preferences
- Try manually creating a message in ProPresenter to test functionality
- Check ProPresenter's "Messages" or "Network" logs for errors
- Ensure the message theme "Default" exists in your ProPresenter setup
How to Use This App
1. Connect
Follow the setup instructions above, then enter your ProPresenter IP address and port to establish connection.
2. Search
Search for verses by reference (John 3:16, Psalm 23) or keywords (love, faith, hope). Choose your preferred Bible translation.
3. Send
Click "Send to PP" on any verse to instantly create and display a message in ProPresenter with the verse text and reference.
